Effect of Adding Selenium Vitamin E to Feed Containing Acetic Acid on Milk Production and its Fat Content in Awassi Ewes

Abstract The study was conducted in the animal barn of Agricultural Research Department/ Nineveh Department / Ministry Agriculture during period 1/3-15/4/ 2022, using 18 Awassi ewes last stage milk production (after weaning). ages ranged between 3-4 years and their average weight (46.80 ± 1.33 kg) were divided into three groups. first group considered control (T1) fed on standard ration without addition, second (T2) with addition 10 glacial acetic acid (99.85%) food grade for each ewe, added to feed after diluting it tab water a ratio (1:1), while third (T3) 0.4 gram selenium-vitamin E. Results showed no effect additives body while, response clear enhancing significantly selenium vitamin E addition. Milk components as percentage yield close T1 T2 except solid non-fat that decreased (p≤0.05) 8.76% compared 9.18%. other hand all higher T3 t1 T2. Serum triglycerides, cholesterol, LDL T1.
